Polo Beach

This small, intimate beach is tucked away next to the Fairmont Kea Lani and is the perfect spot to get a view of everything – rocky points, palm tree landscapes, and sunset views all from a soft, sandy beach. Crowds tend to clear out in the evening, leaving a beautiful space to take your portraits.

Po’olenalena Beach (aka Chang’s)

Located in Wailea, this long stretch of sandy beach is backed by Kiawe trees and flanked by rock outcroppings. Because it is not next to a resort, this beach tends to be less populated then some of the other nearby beaches.

Paipu Beach

Sharing the same parking lot as Changs, this smaller, sandy beach is accessible by a short path over a hill and lava rock. The tiny hike is worth the open, less crowded feel. Great views of the sunset and room to run!

Malauka Beach

There is more than one way to access this beach, but that doesn’t mean it gets very crowded. Located on a dead-end in front of the Makena Beach & Golf Resort, Malauka is a long, light-colored sandy beach with beautiful, large driftwood on one end of the beach and a grassy knoll on the other.

West Maui

Napili Bay

This light-colored, sometimes steep, sandy beach offers up a stunning bay backdrop, with excellent views of Moloka’i, and is surrounded by palm trees and other greenery. A tiny palm tree will most likely make the perfect prop for your photos, along with the crystal blue bay. Sea House Restaurant and several small condos share your views, so it can get busy at times, but tends to clear out some right before sunset.

Oneloa “Ironwoods” Beach

Easily accessible from the Ritz Carlton and Kapalua Resorts, Ironwoods Beach does have a small parking lot for those that are not staying in Kapalua. A sloping, paved walkway to the beach opens up to stunning Oneloa Bay. No crowds here, just ¼ mile of sand, a wooden walking path, and lots of lava rocks and rock walls offering up great backdrops for your photos.  It can get quite windy in the afternoon, but this does not seem to keep it from being a popular spot for intimate weddings.

North Maui

Baldwin Beach

Best for sunrise sessions because of the wind and the crowds, Baldwin Beach has a little bit of everything. Interesting trees, palm trees, beautiful aqua water, light-colored sand, walking paths, lava rocks, driftwood and expansive views. There are no resorts next to it, so if you get lucky, a sunrise session at this beach can be quite serene.
